The problem we want to solve.

Making sustainable changes in your business is hard.

Why?

It requires more than reports, more than one person, more than one industry and more than one approach.

We must change and we need to do more than sustain.

Because, time is not on our side when it comes to planet earth.

It is estimated that at our current rate of resource use, we will need an additional planet earth in less than 12 years
- and this won't be found in a factory somewhere!

Our role in the world.

We are here to help businesses find a better way. To build capability. To design programs, systems and services for a circular future state.

To redesign businesses to flow with nature, not against it.

If you are looking for a partner to help you navigate your journey from a problem to solve to an innovation that’s valuable for your business and the world, then look no further.

“While the power of men and machines has been reshaping the workforce, politics and the economy, even some of our ethical choices, the power of many is driving the acceleration in Mother Nature, which is reshaping the whole biosphere, the whole global ecological system. It is altering the physical and climate contours of Planet Earth, the only home we have.”
— Thomas L. Friedman, An Optimists Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accceleration, 2016

The earth's resources are used to feed, clothe, connect and provide shelter for its inhabitants. With increases in human
population and wealth, we have reached record levels of production and consumption.

As a result, this has placed significant pressure on our natural systems and biodiversity.

We are increasingly seeing the effects of this Take, Make, Waste linear approach on the planets resources:

1. Climate Change
2. Loss of Biodiversity
3. Deforestation
4. Changes in Biochemical flows

Waste from this linear approach is visible in our oceans, soils and cities. Solutions such as recycling, beach clean ups and reducing consumption, barely address the issue at hand.

So how do we solve this?

By radically redesigning business for the circular economy

The Circular Economy is a compelling, prosperous business model that helps us manage our resources to
achieve growth without environmental degradation.

It is a lens by which we can view product creation, waste disposal and will create growth
economies where everything that is made can be unmade.

Everything that is created returns to be regenerative and restorative.

This circularity applied to our 'systems' would bring forth the change required to activate mass behaviour change and find balance in the use of the earth's finite resources.

Growth with zero waste. Growth without environmental degradation.

In response to the linear model, the core principles of a circular economy —

  1. To design out waste and pollution

  2. Keep products and materials in use, and

  3. Regenerate natural systems.

This is an opportunity that is worth $2 trillion globally and $8.8 billion for Auckland alone, all with a reduction in carbon emissions and use of primary resources.

It is an opportunity for all of us no matter how big or small, to understand more about how we can make a difference AND run a business.

The Circular Economy concept is driving change throughout the world to meet consumer expectations, government regulations and policy.
